Plastic Bag Rope
This three strand plastic bag rope is made from 100% plastic bags!
To make this plastic bag rope, first, plastic bags are flattened and cut into sections which create small loops. The loops are then linked together to form three long strands. Then, a drill powered, homemade rope machine twists and winds these three strands together. On average, it takes nine plastic bags to make twelve feet of rope. In 2018, the rope machine was presented at a workshop at the New Orleans Mini Maker Faire and has also been workshopped at The Green Project.

Mardi Gras Throws

Opting out of using plastic beads,
made all of their throws from repurposed materials. In 2018 and 2019, our plastic bag rope was used as the necklace.
