EMT Pipe Wind Chimes

These wind chimes are made from upcycled electrical conduit piping!

After choosing a tuning scheme, electrical conduit piping (or shower curtain rods) are cut to their approximate pitches. Then a bench grinder is used to fine tune them to their final, exact pitch. These wind chimes are tuned to just intonation. This creates musical intervals that can be expressed as whole number ratios (such as 3:2 or 4:3) of frequencies. These pure intervals cannot be found on conventional instruments like the guitar or piano.
